Digikierto Oy: Circular economy and renewable energy scenario simulation with the Danyel software
Digikierto’s Danyel software simulates and calculates the costs of circular economy and other renewable energy production facilities. The application processes the prices of raw materials, the logistics chain, and production equipment. This allows the customer to find the optimal location for their production site, measure emissions across the value chain, and select the right-sized equipment for the facility. The application shows what end products are generated from different raw materials and enables the creation of an optimal production plan. Once the simulation is complete, the application provides the business figures.
Netum Consulting (formerly Buutti Oy) started working on Digikierto’s software project in May 2022. Ilkka Kovalainen, who has long worked in the circular economy field, and sales professional Joonas Heikkinen had an idea for a new “biogas calculator.” Netum Consulting was selected as the implementation partner based on the first meeting.
– Peetu had a great can-do attitude. Instead of weeks of workshops and meetings, Netum Consulting was ready to start working right away, and the project got off the ground quickly, Joonas says.
From Netum Consulting, the project involved the company’s founders Peetu Nuottajärvi and Dan Ackers, as well as junior developer Niko Sotka, who, as agreed, was recruited by Digikierto after the project.
– Niko is a highly analytical developer and always plans his work with the long term in mind. He has also learned the industry very quickly — I would already call him a senior, Joonas says.
Digikierto’s business has gotten off to a good start.
– At the moment, there is no need for active marketing, as there is more demand than we can handle, reflects Ilkka Kovalainen.
Digikierto is currently finalizing Danyel, a software solution designed for international markets to simulate material and energy flows. Sales of the product will begin next year.
